Dénia is located in the north of the province of Alicante and near the border with the province of Valencia, Dénia is the capital of the Marina Alta district. Its geographical location near the cape: Cabo de San Antonio and in front of the Balearic Islands has transformed Dénia into a privileged city where the sea plays an essential role.
Dénia has become one of the most suitable places in Spain for practicing windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing thanks to the favorable winds which make it really easy to enjoy these sports especially in the Les Deveses beach and Punta del Raset beach (areas marked out with buoys for windsurfing and kite surfing) But also for a great beach walk with or without dogs (only winter months dogs aloud)
Thermal winds: the Llebeig, the Poniente, the Levante, the Garbí and the Norte. These winds enable boards and windsurf sails to sweep and to do nautical sports as never before.
Dénia has a great number of sailing schools and a large tradition in organizing Sailing Regattas like the popular "The Salt Route" or "Channel Cup. Also for boat lovers is good news because there is place enough to put your own boat in the harbor, even when it’s more than 100 ft.
Between Dénia and Jávea is the Montgó and it is just a small drive by car. You can drive over the Montgó or around the mountain. Prices of the villas in Dénia are a little bit lower to compare with Jávea or Moraira.
